IMPLEMENTATION NUTRIGENOMIC OF VITAMIN D IN PERIODONTITIS

چکیده

Background: Nutrition is a significant risk factor for the incidence of periodontal disease. Nutrients acting on human genome, either directly or indirectly, can change expression and structure genes. One micronutrients associated with periodontitis vitamin D. Vitamin D has an important role in bone calcium metabolism regulates serum phosphate concentrations at normal limits. Purpose: To discuss nutritional as essential micronutrient preventing accelerating healing periodontitis. Review: Searched two databases from article publication to April 2021, resulting total 66 hits, which seven relevant articles were selected. VDR signaling build transcription genes encoding proactive cytokines, bypassing cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2) prostaglandin pathway, inhibit matrix metalloproteinase production. The protective mechanism against occurs through biological pathways, namely anti-microbial anti-inflammatory pathways. effect results binding 1,25(OH)2D3 then induces cAMP, b-def-2 b-def-3 peptides by macrophages, monocytes, gingival epithelium ligament epithelium. decreased production proinflammatory cytokines. Conclusion: All effects reduce bacteria induced inflammatory cytokines so that personalized supplementation adjusted dose needed be used

Association between serum levels of vitamin D and chronic periodontitis in premenopausal women in Yazd

Introduction: Periodontal disease is a common chronic inflammatory disease, considered as a primary cause of tooth loss due to the destruction of periodontal tissues. Various studies have shown that vitamin D has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties and plays a significant role in musculoskeletal health. There is strong evidence that vitamin D deficiency may increase the likelihood o...

Vitamin D receptor gene polymorphism is associated with chronic periodontitis.

Chronic periodontitis (CP) is caused by enhanced resorption of the alveolar bone supporting the teeth and is associated with intraoral inflammation after infection with certain bacteria. The VDR gene polymorphism was reported recently to be deeply related to the occurrence of tuberculosis and infection of chronic hepatitis B virus. This may be interpreted to indicate a close relationship betwee...

Study of association between rs7975232 polymorphism in vitamin D receptor gene and periodontitis by Tetra Arms PCR

Background and Aims: Periodontitis is an inflammatory multifactorial disease in oral tissues and many genetic reasons and environmental factors responsible. Vitamin D deficiency has been determined to be related to periodontal disease. This aim of this study was to investigate the association between rs7975232 polymorphism in vitamin D Receptor gene and periodontitis in 100 patients (as patient...

Status of Vitamin-D in diabetic patients

Abstract Background: Vitamin D (vit D) deficiency has been found to have an inverse relationship with the occurrence of type-2 diabetes mellitus (DM). The aim of this study was to assess the vit D level in type-2 diabetic patients. Methods: One hundred-twenty DM patients selected as case group and 120 healthy individuals as control group were investigated in this study from October 2011 to S...

Analysis of vitamin D receptor gene polymorphisms in patients with chronic periodontitis.

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE Genetic polymorphisms in the vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene are related to bone mineral density, bone turnover, and diseases with bone loss. Alveolar bone loss is a key feature in periodontitis. The aim of this study was to determine whether severe generalized chronic periodontitis (CP) in a Turkish population was associated with polymorphisms in the VDR gene. METHODS Sa...
